Happy November!

Hey guys!

So ehm...It's November...What!?

That month went a bit quickly, infact the whole year is zooming past, I could almost swear that the summer holidays only just ended. So anyway this is just a short post updating you on why i'm being such a terrible blogger and such things. So I gathered the second year at Uni would be pretty much the same as the first year...WRONG! My gosh, I have so much more work this year, for each lecture every week I have around 3, 80 page chapters to read for the next lesson. It's crazy stuff. I also just started a new job at Asda, which is great and i'm really loving. The people I work with are lovely, but it does mean that i'm neglecting my blog a little and rarely have time to post.

I can't say i've bought too much recently although i'll hopefully be doing another collective blog soon. My monthly faves and monthly music are still to come as well as a few reviews (soap and glory eye liner, balmi lip balm etc etc). I will hopefully start to do some more OOTDs and am planning to start weekly Intagram pictures and I will finish the 30 day photography challenge at some point, promise!

Anyway, I'm sure the large majority of you don't care too much about where i've been but just incase you've been wondering, there it is.

I hope you're all having a lovely week!

Lots of love, Lucy xx

Bits and Bobs Haul

Hellooo there :)

I thought i'd do a bit of a collective haul of the things i've bought in the past 2 weeks or so. There aren't many things this time, I'm sure that there were more but I've completely forgotten what i've been buying!

George @ Asda

I've bought 2 coats from George recently. I was pleasantly surprised by their clothes, having never really shopped there before. The first is this longer, padded parka. I really wanted one of these which was in Miss Selfridges for £85 but it just seemed a bit too much, this one however was £36 and is so amazingly warm, it's like wearing a duvet. It also has a fur trimmed hood and little leather style toggles to synch in the waist as you choose.

This is the second of the coats, It's a shorter wax coated parker style coat. It's quite thin so is great for wearing over big jumpers and cardigans. If I remember rightly this was £35 which was pretty reasonable also. This one is navy and has a synched in waist.

Diva @ Miss Selfridge

Last Thursday was 'Student takeover' in my town which was quite an amazing new invention of theirs where we got given goodie bags in places like HMV and Wittards and lots of shops had discounts and were handing out food and shots and things which was all rather amazing. Miss Selfridge were doing a 20% off event and I picked up some jewellery which was already in the sale, and I got the extra 20% off!

I firstly got these rings which was a set of 4 ducks (My boyfriend accidently broke one though he's still adamant the duck just fell off) they were £1.80 with the discount and I love them veeeery much!

These rings and earings were another purchase, there is a set missing which I was wearing today of earings and a ring with a rose on them. These as you can see were£3 in the sale but were £2.40 with my discount.

I also picked up a bit of a statement necklace which had a leather string and silver arrow head style deco, I would have taken a picture but I've left it at Liam's :O

Primark

I grabbed this waist belt in Primark to put around a dress I have for a night out which is happening Thursday. This was £4 so not bad at all.

I secondly bought some more of their suede style flats but in navy blue. these were £6!

New Look

The last thing I bought was some studded slippers from NewLook for £17.99, they are however too big so I'll have to go exchange them.

And that is all :) Thank you for reading :)

P.s Don't forget to check out my give-away if you fancy winning a Revlon Lip Butter and some MUA goodies!

DAY ONE: 30 Day Photography Challenge

Hey guys :)

I realise I'm being a terrible blogger recently and have been barely posting (except for my giveaway which you can enter HERE *wink wink*) mainly because I've been overwhelmed with Uni work and also because I've just started my new job! :) To keep my posts more regular I've decided to do the 30 day photography challenge. Don't worry, I'll carry on posting my usual OOTDs, hauls and such things as well :)

Day 1 - Self Portrait
This isn't so much a self portrait as a picture of me...but ya know haha

Hope you guys are having a good Monday :)

You can go to it HERE :)

100 Followers Give Away !!!!

My own little collection!

Hello there :)

I am super supppper excited that I have 100 followers! I can remember when I received my very first follow and now 100 of you lovely people are following my little old blog. I only set it up as an outlet for my beauty and fashion thinkings and never in a million years thought people would actually want to read it. I smile like a Cheshire cat every time someone comments or follows and I love my blog super loads and as a result I want to thank you by doing a give away!

I was very confused about what to do as a give away and did numerous polls which usually came out pretty even, so I have decided on the following as they are both things which I use on a regular basis and so I know that they are great!

YOU CAN WIN...

A Revlon Lip Butter in any colour of your choice. And along with it I shall put in one or two MUA things. Let me know the shade you'd like by commenting below and if you're not sure what shades there are click HERE to go to Boots.com where you can see them.

To enter you need to be following me on GFC. If you want to follow me on twitter and such things leave a comment letting me know your username, so that I can check :)

GOOD LUCK! Oh and thanks again :)

Halloween Decorations!

Hey guys :)

I'm super excited about Halloween and so have my decorations up in my room already! I thought I'd share them with you as I looove them! They're also all from supermarkets and were super cheap so it may possibly give you some ideas.

This banner was from Morrisons as part of their 3 for £2 thingy. They come in one long strip but I cut them up to form a number of short banners.
...............................................................................................................................

This was also part of Morrisons' 3 for £2 offer. It is a glow in the dark skeleton and there were 3 in a pack. They're not the brightest glowing things ever. In fact I can;t really notice them when it's dark, but they're great and 'halloweeney' anyway :)
...............................................................................................................................

I love this little paper garland type thing. These were also in the 3 for £2 offer in Morrisons. (ignore the summery decorations! haha). They did bats and spiders and I believe that Asda do ghosts which I want to buy! It was surprisingly long for the price.
...............................................................................................................................

These are really pretty. They were £4 from Asda and are run on batteries so they can be put pretty much anywhere (indoors of course). I believe that they also did ghosts which I also want to buy.
...............................................................................................................................

I think that this is my absolute favourite decoration so far. The pumpkin itself is a sort of jelly texture which makes it kinda clear and sparkly looking. It's super bright and projects light sparkle shapes all over the walls. The best thing is that it was only £4 from Morrisons.

Thank you for reading. I hope you've had/are having a great Saturday :)

Cheap Disco Pants! (and mini missguided haul)

Heyyyy guys :)

So if you saw my Missguided wishlist (here if you're interested) I said about some disco pants style leggings I wanted for £25.99. The original Disco pants are like £75 or something similar from American Apparel. I would absolutely love to own a pair but considering i'm a poor student, I had been looking for a cheap alternative and came across the most amaaaazing pair on missguided.com. Disco pants, in case you're not familiar with them, are like a trouser mixed with jeans mixed with leggings. The material is a really thick legging material and they have a wet look to them, what makes them a bit different is that they have a button and zip fastening like your everyday jeans and also pockets at the back. I really dislike it when girls wear leggings which are see-through and you can see their pants, but these are so thick it's just like wearing jeans.

This was the blouse I picked up from there aswell. I didn't realise the back was like draped. Not sure if I like it or not at the moment though.

Thank you very much for reading. Hope you've had a fab day. If you have time I would really really really appreciate it if you could go and click over there on the left somewhere, about what you'd like as a 100 followers give-away. They're all 3-a-piece atm which isn't so helpful haha.

I Love Autumn Tag

Helloooo,

So I've seen quite a few YouTubers doing the 'I <3 Fall Tag' and soooo I have decided to do my own version of it over on my little blog. I'm sure some people are already doing it but I absolutely love Autumn so  whyyy not? :)

1. Favourite Autumn lip product?

Ooooh that's a tricky one, I've been liking quite a few recently including Nivea's Milk and Honey lip balm. I also like my Balmi lip balm but I guess my favourite one at the moment is a Revlon lip butter in Raspberry Pie, which is a lovely berry colour.

2. Favourite Autumn nail polish?
Definitely definitely DEFINITELY Barry M's nail varnish in 'Raspberry'. I've been rambling on about this quite a bit recently but it is soooo lovely. It is exactly the same colour as the lip butter, a sort of deep red, berry colour. It looks just plain red in the picture but honestly it isn't!

3. Favourite Autumn drink?
This was originally fave starbucks Autumn drink but I never go there because Worcester doesn't have one!! Tricky, I can't say I really drink anything different in Autumn except for maybe just hot drinks in general. I love a tea and green tea with lemon or even fruit teas which are really lovely and hot chocolate...mmmm.

4. Favourite Autumn candle?
I feel boring again because, don't get me wrong I love candles, but I can't justify spending like £20 or however much a Yankee candle is, on a candle, also I don't know if it's just me but whenever any candle is burning no matter where it's from or what scent it is, all I can smell is burning candle....? Sooo I guess my favourite candles are just tea lights which you put into a pumpkin :)
Source

5.Favourite Autumn scarf or accessory?
This might have to be a scarf I got from George. It's a mix of red, burgundy and purple so a great colour for Autumn. It's not woolly so it's not super hot but it's still warm enough to keep you snug in the colder days.

6. Haunted House, ghost train or ghost walk?
I've altered this one a bit because I'm not sure if 'hay rides' or 'corn mazes', which were originally in the question, are that common in England compared to ghost trains and ghost walks.
I do not like ghost trains, as a gullible 4 year old I went on the one at Alton Towers thinking it was a train in the shape of a ghost....I cried and i'm sure now being 19 I'd still be terrified. Ghost walks scare me too. My town has one and Worcester is a really old place so there are loads of stories of ghosts and things. It's super scary because they're sightings and things by real people instead of plastic figures and mechanisms. I'd have to go with a haunted house, at least you can run through them and get out asap...In case you hadn't noticed, I'm a wimp :P

7. Favourite Halloween Movie?
I'd have to go with Halloween town which when I was younger always seemed to be on the Disney Channel around Halloween time. It reminds me of dressing up and going to friend's parties.

8.Favourite sweets to eat at Halloween?
Ummmmm, do England do a specific sweet for Halloween? I love alllll sweets so any sweets are great. I do like the little ghost and eyeball chocolates and things :)

9. What are you dressing up as for Halloween?
I do not have a clue! last year we went to our friends uni party and I was a devil. I'd like to do something like a scary doll or something a little more original this year. Any ideas? lol.

10. What's your favourite thing about Autumn?
The colours. I love reds and oranges and goldsssss. I also love Haloween and Bonfire night!!!!!! I also like the fact that it's getting colder outside but it's not sooo cold that you don't want to get out of bed in the morning.

Thanks for reading :) I'd love to read your 'I love Autumn Tag' if you do it or if you've already done it so feel free to link it to me. I tag everrrryone reading this to do the tag :)

Lots of love, Lucy xx

Review | Benefit's Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW foundation

Hey :)
So this was a pretty requested post for me to do as it seems this foundation is not greatly known, regardless of the fact it's on the Benefit website's 'top sellers' page. I bought my foundation for £24.50 from Boots as a result of running out of my trusty Maybelline BB cream and them not having the 'light' one in stock. I find it pretty much impossible to find a foundation which doesn't make my pale skin go yellow/orange or cakey. Most high street foundations often do this to me so, I thought I'd invest in a high end one after having it applied in store by the Benefit girl and finding it was the perfect shade. Anyway after an essay of an intro read on if you'd like to know my own views on it :)

on the left half (your left) I am wearing the foundation, on the right I have no foundation

on the left half (your left) I am wearing the foundation, on the right I have no foundation

The half of my face with the foundation.

The right hand without any foundation

The foundation claims to ...
Have a broad-spectrum SPF 25 PA +++ protection
Oil-free formula
Natural finish
Hydrating benefits
light-diffusing properties
available in 9 shades

Application- I use a Real Techniques buffing brush to apply the foundation. It's quite a runny foundation but not over the top watery, it does have some thickness to it. It applies nicely and blends really well although I like to blend it a little more with my fingers after I've applied it with the brush. The colour of the foundation is the same on my face as it is in the bottle which is different to some high street foundations I've used before. It  isn't particularly matte but instead has more of a dewy finish but it doesn't feel greasy on the skin.

Appearance- The Benefit lady said that it's a light coverage foundation which can be built up to medium, so if you're looking for high coverage this one probably isn't for you. It does however mask any blemishes or redness I have. The shade which I picked up was 'believe in me ivory' which has pink undertones although some have more yellow-ey undertones. I can't say I really notice any light-diffusing particles, but it helps to cover my dark under-eye circles which i'm sure you can see in the pictures so i'm sure there are some in there somewhere. In all, the appearance is of a high quality, it's not super high coverage but like it says it does look pretty natural.

Quality- The quality of the foundation, in my opinion, is pretty good, although the texture does't seem all that different from high street foundations. I can't say I've noticed a smell to it, but on the plus side that must mean it doesn't have a particularly bad one either. It does feel quite moisturising and like I said previously, it seems to sink in pretty quickly and doesn't feel oily on the skin afterwards. The coverage is pretty light and I feel I have to put on quite a bit for it to cover up spots which I hate doing because I quite frankly want it to last forever because of the price of it. It seems to stay on my skin pretty long, I use it along with Benefit's Porefessional primer and for the first time out of any foundation like ever, I wipe a make-up remover wipe over my face at night after wearing it all day, and there is some on the wipe!

All in all, I feel the foundation is pretty good value for money It has a nice appearance, although the only major benefits of it for me is it's staying power and how well it matches my skin tone. The feel and look of it are also really lovely, but i'm sure there may be some high street foundation out there with the same properties. It also claims to plump up skin, protect skin from environmental stresses and prevent against ageing, all of which I can't really comment on because I'm sure you'd have to use it for rather a long time, or wear it in super cold or hot weather to see if it really is doing what it says.

Recommend? I do recommend it if you have the money and are looking for a lovely long-lasting foundation.
Rating: 3/5
Repurchase?: Possibly, I would if it were cheaper, so maybe if I get a voucher?

Thank you all Very much for reading! I hope you've had a great week :) And also it'd be massively appreciated if you could vote in my little poll on the right about what you'd like as a 100 followers give-away.

Lots of love, Lucy xx
