Essie's 'Rock The Boat'

Hey there everyone!

Hope you're all ok.

I recently picked up one of the essie summer collection nail varnishes called 'Rock the Boat' on a trip to Boots (haul to come soon!). It is a beautiful pastel blue/ periwinkle colour with shimmer (hopefully you can see that in the second pic). I'm not the biggest fan of essie because I usually find that they chip super easily and cost quite a bit, although I couldn't pass on this colour.

Base coat of O.P.I 'Nail Envy'

With one coat (left) and with two (right)

Overall, I am super happy with this colour. At the moment there is no chipping but I will more than likely go over it with a chip-proof top coat to make sure. It's such a summery colour, I can imagine this on a super sunny hot day at the beach would look AMAZING!

Have you tried any of the new nail varnishes in the essie 2013 summer collection?

My Nail Polish Collection

Hey guys :)

So my nail polish collection is not very extensive as you can see and I am on a mission to get more colours. I thought i'd share it with you anyway...

I own only three Models own varnishes and really want some from their mirrorball collection but they're completely sold out online at the moment. but anyway the ones I have are (from left to right) Golden Peach, Pink fizz and Indian Ocean.

I used to have more 17 nail polishes because they are cheaper and have so many colours, they're also pretty good quality, but more recently i've bee buying more Barry M and Essie polishes. These ones are (from left to right) orange soda, glisten and glitter top coat.

These two from Avon I do like, but their wear is pretty crappy, they usually chip within hours of applying. Also because you're ordering from a catalogue, it's hard to see the exact colours. These are (l-r) Ballerina and vintage boutique.

I have been loving Essie ever since they came out into the Boots in my town. The colours are all amazing although I find they chip easily, which makes me sad, although i'm hoping to invest in a real good top coat. I got most of these bar 2 from fragrancedirect.com where they were £1.99 so I didn't feel haf as bad buying them as I did buying them for £7.99 in Boots. These ones (l-r) are Vanity Fairest, Penny Talk, Muchi Muchi, Mademoiselle, Tour De Finance, Ballet slippers and Chubby Cheeks.

Barry M are like the best nail varnishes (in my opinion) ever! they're a fraction of the price of Essie but they seem to last much longer and are much more chip resistant. The ones I have are (l-r) Flamingo  Peach Melba, Strawberry Ice Cream, Cappuccino and Raspberry.

These are the two 'odd-one-out' varnishes from my collection, they are Natural Collections 'tip whitener' and N.Y.C Starry Silver Glitter.

Thank you for reading :)

NOTD

Hey guys,

I thought i'd do a 'Nails Of The Day' today because I have one of my new Essie nail varnishes on in 'Tour De Finance' and it looks just lovely!

I painted the nails in 'Tour De Finance' which is a lovely hot pink with a purpley shimmer to it (the pictures above do it no justice). I also painted over my index finger nail with 17s glitter top coat.

What nail varnish are you wearing atm?

Haul time :)

Hellooo,

So I've been visiting my boyfriend for the past 2 or 3 so days (hence the lack of posts, sorry!). But we went into town and I bought a few things and decided i'd share them with you, along with some things i've bought online recently :). It's not a massive haul and the things were very reasonably priced as i's the end of summer and i've run out of money untill my next pay :)...

These are just a few things from Primark....I have wanted to buy a pair of black slipper style shoes for ages and these were £8 which was gooood, although when I have saved a bit up I may very well get the black studded ones from Topshop.
I bought a grey and light pink skull scarf, which I am 90% sure is based on the Alexander McQueen skull scarf but it was only £4 which is a LOT cheaper.
I do not own a denim shirt but wanted one to wear as more of a jacket. I saw this one in Primark for £12 and just had to get it. It's your everyday denim shirt with pearly buttons but the buttons and collar are decorated with studs, which of course is one of the major A/W trends this year.
The sign in the middle was £2 in the sale, my room is covered in things like this and for that price i oculdn't resist.

This top from Zara was £17.99 which I thought was a little pricey but I loved it. It is a long sleeved, white top with blue stripes. Oh and the buttons at the front are studs :D

I got these Essie nail varnishes from Fragrance Direct for £1.99 yes..£1.99!! They're full sized as well which is crazy and makes me wonder if Essie really is better than cheaper brands of nail varnish or whether the £7.99 price tag is a little overpriced. I got these in (from left to right) Muchi Muchi, Ballet Slippers, Vanity Fairest, Chubby Cheeks (which is a lovely deep orange, great for Autumn) and Tour De Finance. I'm not the biggest fan of Essie, but for £1.99 I couldn't resist.

This is very random but I got these little packs of tissues and I thought they were super cute. They're mini and were like £2 for 6 packs from good old Sainsbury's.

Apologies again for the lack of posts but thank you for reading :)

Get Bourjois in America and buy Essie for £1.99 !?!?

Hey Guys...

Just a quick post repeating what seems to be going around Instagram. Fragrance Direct (click here to go to their website) are selling full sized (13.5ml) bottles of Essie nail varnishes for just £1.99 ($3.16 and €2.50)!!!! they only have 23 shades available but those include some of the most well known and loved such as Mademoiselle and ballet slippers. I literally didn't believe it so I headed over there and have now bought 5 (oopsie).

They also sell a load of Bourjois products at crazy discounts which can be shipped to the US and Canda as well as all over Europe.

Happy Essie buying haha :)
