Mini Boots/drugstore haul!

Hello there!

I took a trip to town yesterday and of course had to go into Boots and buy things which I didn't really need but which looked super pretty or interesting. I decided therefore that I would haul my little shop for you :). I apologise that there isn't that much, I'm on a strict 'no spending too much!' regime since I splashed out a week ago spending about £200 on clothes (uh oh). Hopefully more will come once I forgive myself a little.

Anyway....into the haul...

I picked up a Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof eyeliner in 'bronze' for £3.99.

I prefer using brown eyeliner because I am super pale and fair and feel that black is sometimes too intense on my skin tone. I have previously tried Soap & Glory and Topshop waterproof eyeliners which came out pretty much black, but this one appears much more brown and has a slight shimmer so I am super excited to try this out.

Another Scandaleyes product is this shadow stick in the shade 'bulletproof beige' which was £4.49.

I lied a little, this was actually from Superdrug because although there were about six in Boots, they has ALL been used. It annoys me SOOO much when people do that. There was a tester there but I guess they thought they'd just try another six aswell.

I feel this will look really good as an all over base colour, on the waterline and in the inner corners. I put a little into my inner corners when I bought it and it stayed for ages, so it's looking good so far.

The Schwarzkopf got2b salt spray was £4.07

I am again yet to use this, but I have used salt sprays before and loved them. This one seemed to be the cheapest so I picked it up and sprayed it. Now I don't know about all of them, but for Christmas my brother bought me a Label.M one which retails for anything from £4 to like £15 and it had a very salty smell to it, don't get me wrong it was quite pleasant. Although this one has a really lovely almost fruity clean scent to it which I was not expecting. I am really looking forward to trying this out.

This Batiste dry shampoo was on offer at £1.99. BARGAIN!

This is one of their 'new' dry shampoos that strengthens and adds shine. Whether it does or not, I don't know yet. I picked this up because I am running out of my current one and this one smells pretty similar to the 'blush' one which is my current favourite. It's the typical white colour and I'm intrigued to know how/if it works.

I picked up this essie 2013 summer collection nail polish in 'Rock the Boat' for £7.99.

I love the colour of this one, it has a slight shimmer and looks lovely on the nails. I have gone into a bit more detail about this varnish in my blog post which you can find here.

Last but certainly not least, I grabbed a Revlon lipstick (it's not like the 3 million I have already are enough, am I right?) in the shade 'pink in the afternoon' for £7.49.

This for me is one of those 'my lip colour but better' lip shades and is a really pretty rose pink colour. I also love the name of it. This is one of their 'super lustrous' lipsticks and I have worn it to death already. One thing I will say is that it seems pretty drying, I find the need to put a lip balm on with it. I also got and extra £2 off with a voucher and so for the price I really don't mind.

And that is it. If you would like me to give a more in depth review or anything into any of the things I have bought, please do ask, it gives me post ideas :)

Lots of love, Lucy

Boots Haul!

Hey guys :)

I love Boots, it is by far my favourite place to shop in the whole world, if I could live there, I would. so anyway I went there to pick up a few things the other day and ended up getting more things than I'd anticipated so I decided to do a little haul :)

I really like the idea of the Boots Botanics range. It is pretty much a range of skin care which uses as many organic ingredients as possible. I picked up their nourishing cleanser as I previously used simple's but fancied something a bit different. It smells of roses and seems to be working pretty well although I've only been using it for the past few days.

I also got a facial oil which is not something I've seen before but reviews for it said it was really good and reading the box also made me want it. It contains 100% organic ingredients and states that it is scientifically proven to lock in moisture for 8 hours. It says it can be used morning and night but so far I've found it's a little too greasy to use in the morning but it a great night time moisturiser.

I will do a full review of these two ones I've had a bit more use out of them so keep your eyes peeled :)

I picked up rather a few nail polishes on the trip. The first is Essie's 'no chips ahead' top coat which claims that it can prolong a manicure for up to ten days. So far it seems to be pretty good, there are a few chips, but not as many as usual. It was quite pricey at £8.99 but I'be been looking for a good top coat for ages.

I also bought three Barry M varnishes. The first (left to right) is a 'web effect' nail varnish which I'm guessing is for Halloween. It is a bright orange colour which is very fitting. I tried it the other day and it never worked, but I was using it on dry nail varnish and apparently the base coat cannot be completely dry so I'll try it again soon. The second along is 'burgundy Croc'. This is exactly the same colour as their 'Raspberry' nail varnish which I love. Third along is 'pink sapphire glitter' which is an amazing pink and rainbow coloured glitter, it is super pretty!

the last nail varnish I got was one from Rimmel and I believe it's one of their newer ones. It's part of their metal rush collection and this one was called 'Purple reign'. It's a lovely deep purple with flecks of silver, blue, gold and pink.

I love St Ives face scrubs and said in my Monthly Favourites that I wanted to pick up their gentle and blemish fighting ones too. I decided instead to just get the gentle one, as I can use this every day, which is something my skin definitely needs. I also got the body scrub which seems very similar to their invigorating face scrub. It smells the same and has a very similar texture. I can't wait to use it and compare it to my usual Soap and Glory body scrub.

Finally I picked up a 'balmi' which I have heard lots about recently. It's a round shaped tub which you unscrew and it then has a ball of lip balm inside which is very handy. I got it in strawberry and it is delicious. I would tell you whether it's amazing at moisturising your lips or not, but I usually end up licking it off pretty quickly so I can't really comment.

Thanks for reading :) Have you used any of these products before?

Lots of love, Lucy xx

Bourjois magic nail polish remover - Review

Helloha,

I'm always one of those people who can't be bothered to remove nail varnish when it starts chipping, usually because i've run out of cotton wool pads or decide to 'do it tomorrow', I also hate the smell of nail varnish remover. When I came across Bourjois' 'Magic nail polish remover' in Boots for £4.99, which claims to remove nail varnish in 1 second, I just had to snap it up.

I've heard Zoella (an amazing YouTube beauty guru) talking about this in the past, so knew the kind of main features of the product before I bought it. However for those of you that haven't heard of this, it's pretty much a sponge soaked in nail varnish remover in a bottle. It states that it has 'nourishing sweet almond oil' and a 'red fruit and vanilla scent'.

I used this firstly on my newspaper nails where i'd used a base coat, two coats of white polish, the newspaper ink, and then a top coat and it's safe to say it took longer than a second. So you put your finger into the hole, twist it then pull it out (that would sound dodgy out of context), although I had to do this about 5 or 6 times untill it had gone, which to be honest is still easier than removing nail polish with cotton wool. I used it again on nail varnish where i'd used just a base and 2 colour coats and left it to dry for about and an hour and it only took one second to remove it.

If you smell the sponge it definitely smells of nail varnish remover, although once you've taken your finger out and it has dried, it does in fact leave a fruity smell on your fingers, which is a major plus in my books.

I highly recommend this nifty little gadget it's a great time saver and the size which I have (75ml) could quite easily fit into your handbag. Plus it's only £4.99, the price i'd usually pay for a half decent nail varnish remover anyway.

Thanks for reading guys :)

Lots of love, Lucy xx
