Ten Day You Challenge | Day Ten

Hey guys!
Firstly let me start by apologising for posting nothing yesterday :O I've been super busy recently but don't worry, Monday I shall be buying lots more things to review and haul :)

Day Ten | One Picture of Yourself

This is a completely unflattering picture of me but I just had to put it on because of the kitten. My friends cat had just had kittens and at this point they were a few weeks old and still in their box tripping over their legs. I'm rambling about the kitten but seriously...so cute!

Thank You for reading :) Hope you've had a good week so far.

Ten Day You Challenge | Day Nine

Day Nine | Two Songs

This is such a hard one to choose. I am a music lover and have million of songs which I love.

1. Big Yellow Taxi, Counting Crows - I really don't know why I love this one so much but i've liked it ever since I was little and I could never listen to it too much. Counting Crows weren't the original singers but this version always seems to be my favourite.

2. Wonderwall, Oasis - I did Music GCSE some 4 years ago and this song has so many memories relating back to that and also to leaving school and to my best friend who did music with me. It also reminds me of my nan, i'm really not sure why. But all in all every time I listen to it it brings a load of happy memories back to mind. Oasis are my favourite band of all time anyway which makes this song even better.

These ten days are going so quickly, only one day left :O

Thank you for reading, what is your favourite song of all time?

Ten Day You Challenge | Day Eight

Day Eight | Three Films

1. The Avengers - This is a pretty new movie but an amazing one none the less. I went to watch it with a load of friends and it's one of those movies where you want to run out after being a superhero, doing flips and things. So in this movie, all of the avengers (The Hulk, Ironman, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow and Hawk Eye) and bought together to save the world from Loki (Thor's brother) and his army of wierd metal robot alien things. It's pretty serious at times and absolutely hilarious at others. I don't think you really even need to be a superhero fan to like this. People clapped at the end of the movie, that's how good it was!

2. 500 Days of Summer - This is one of my favourite movies of all time. It has two main characters, Summer Finn (Zooey Deschanel) and Tom Hansen (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Tom sees Summer and falls in love with her and the movie is based around their relationship. It's a real feel-good movie. A good one to watch if you're getting over a break-up or just after a girlie movie. I completely recommend this one!

3. Toy Story - This was my all time favourite movie as a kid and I still love it now, I never get bored of it. I'm pretty sure everyone knows the story behind Toy Story...Andy's Toys come to life and get upto all sorts of mischief (in-case you have been living on Mars for the past 17 years). I loved Toy story 2 and 3 also. Three was so emotional, Andy was off to Uni the same time as me and I felt his pain. End of an amazing era.

Thank you very much for reading. Look out for an OOTD up asap

Ten Day You Challenge | Day Seven

Day Seven | Four Books

1. Breaking the silence, Diane Chamberlain - The cover sold this book to me (I'm a sucker for pretty covers) but it is literally one of the best books i've read. Amazon's 'Book description' states:
This book is from the number 1 bestselling author of "The Lost Daughter". Laura Brandon's promise to her dying father was simple: to visit an elderly woman she'd never heard him speak of before. a woman who remembers nothing - except the distant past. Visiting Sarah Tolley seemed a small enough sacrifice to make. But Laura's promise resulted in another death - her husband's. And after their five-year-old daughter, Emma, witnesses her father's suicide, Emma refuses to talk about it...or to talk at all. Frantic and guilt-ridden, Laura contacts the only person who may be able to help, a man she's met only once before - a man who doesn't know he's Emma's real father. Guided only by a child's silence and an old woman's fading memories, tho two unravel a tale of love and dispair, bravery and unspeakable evil. This is a tale that links them all. It is a tale shrouded in silence.

2. The twilight series, Stephanie Meyer - Yes I am a lover of the twilight books, but I honestly think they're amazing. Lots of guys (and some girls) often slate them saying "vampires don't sparkle" and such things (i'm pretty sure they're just jealous that more girls love a fictional character than them). But they are beautifully written, if they weren't they would not have become so popular. If you're on the fence about the books or down right refuse to read them....become a little open-minded and give them a try...

3. The family at red roofs, Enid Blyton - This is one I loved when I was a little un'. when I was too little to read the book, my mum used to read it to me and I was a little older I read it and read it. It's a lovely story. It's more 'real' than most children's stories, no faries, talking spoons or giants although it is still suitable for children. Amazon's description is:
Molly, Peter, Michael and Shirley are thrilled with their lovely new house on the hill. It's just perfect, and they've heard it's a lucky house, too. But the luck doesn't last long, as their father goes to work abroad and their mother goes to hospital. Then some terrible news changes their life.
It's wonderfully 'real-life' and teaches the importance of family and friendship.

4. The Quantum Universe: Everything that can happen does happen, Brian Cox and Jeff Forshaw- This is my geeky pick of the bunch. As I completely loved science at school I invested, and I can't lie, it is a challenging read, but a good one also. Again Amazon give an overview of the book:
But just what is quantum physics? How does it help us to understand our amazing world? Where does it leave Newton and Einstein? And why, above all, can we be sure that the theory is good?
Here, Brian cox and Jell Forshaw give us the real science behind the bizarre behaviour of the atoms and energy that make up the Universe, and reveal exactly how everything that can happen, does happen
.
Thank you for reading :) Only three days left of the challenge, that does make me sad!

Ten Day You challenge | Day Six

Day Six | Five foods

I am a really rather picky eater and I always have been (I'm sat here now, picking the fat of a bacon sandwich) never the less I eat like a horse and could snack for ever and ever. I have also found a very good vacuum in my boyfriend Liam who is not picky at all and eats anything I leave (sometimes it's quite gross, haha). I do love food and often look forward to eating during the day, which is quite sad. So anyway...

1. Sunday roast - This is not so much a food as a meal...but I don't love one thing in a Sunday roast more than another. I have alwaaays had one, we used to go to my nans every week and she would do one, but now we stay at home or go out, never the less, it is my favourite meal in the world, I love vegetables and meat and different variations of potatoes...so it's pretty much heaven on a plate to me.

2.Sweets - I love sweets, I much prefer sweets to chocolate and I blame this on my mum because she always bought me and my brother a few little sweets a week and rarely gave us chocolate instead. I mean I love chocolate, I just love sweets more. Especially Randoms and Giant Strawbs and now my mouth is watering!

3. Mum's chips - I have always loved mum's chips. I really dislike any other kind, including oven and fried and whatever else, but there's something about home made ones which are really moreish. I could eat them for all of eternity.

4. Subway - I do love subway, A chicken Tikka footlong toasted with no cheese (I really hate melted cheese) with lettuce cucumber and red onions...to be precise. I love how sweet the bread is although I also know that Subways are pretty well known for their high levels of salt, so I only have one on occasions, but i'd rather a subway than a McDonalds.

5. Banana frittas - I LOVE banana everything, milkshake, ice cream, yoghurt and these things which are the holy grail of banana goodness (or maybe badness because they're sort of bad for you). They are simply deep fried bananas which you may be wincing at but on no I promise you...these things are amaaaaaaazing! The batter is lovely and crisp and the banana is warm but not all that mushy. It's just delicious, especially swirled with golden syrup. There was a little tiny store which sold them on holiday and we'd have one every year the day before going home. If you ever get the chance to try one...do it!

Thank you for reading :) I do hope your Saturday is fab so far :)

Ten Day You Challenge | Day Five

Day Five | Six Places

I'm not entirely sure if this is places that mean something to me or places that I want to go so i guess i'll do a bit of a mix :)

1. Worcester - This is my home town and therefore means a lot to me. I went through a stage of hating the place and wanting to move away asap but the more i've gone round staying in other places, i've grown to love it again. It's a really old town but pretty big ish too (to me anyway). We have loads of big old buildings like the Cathedral and Guild hall. We're pretty well known for our Worcester sauce and Porcelain. At Christmas we have a big Victorian Fayer which is all festive and fun and that. It's all in all an averaged size but very pretty town.

2. Dawlish, Devon - This is a teeny little seaside town but my Grandpa owned a caravan there and it was the only place we went on holiday from when I was born to when I was 11. I have loads of memories there and no-one else from my school or out of my friends had ever heard of it until recently where loads of people seem to be going there.

3. Santa Ponsa, Majorca - This is where I first went on holiday without my family. 6 of me and my friends went and we had a fab time. It's about a 10 minute drive from the infamous Magaluf. Most nights though, we just went into Santa Ponsa town which was crazy enough (Free shots and jugs full of cocktail with every drink you bought). But it was a little quieter than Maga. We literally slept till about 4 in the afternoon, headed to the pool for a few hours, grabbed some dinner, then went out again. We went to Maga twice and came back at about 8 in the morning. It was a crazy holiday but very fun, i'd absolutely love to go back.

4. New York - It's one of the fashion capitals of the world and I have alwaaays wanted to go there. It always looks so beautiful in films and on TV and my uncle went there for 3 weeks and told us how amazing it was. That's pretty much it for New York...but if anyone has a spare ticket to New York, I will gladly take it.

5. Germany - I'm not even sure where abouts in Germany I'd like to go, but ever since I started taking German in high school i've wanted to go there. I used to have a penpall and we'd e-mail each other all the time so I got to know more about their holidays and traditions and things. I also love their food and a lot of the towns we learnt about in German were beautiful. I just think it would be great to go there. Since finishing my A levels, my German's gotten a bit rusty so I wouldn't trust myself ordering food or anything but I would really like to go.

6. LA, California - I hadn't really thought too much about California untill firstly, I started watching YouTube videos a few years ago and loads of people lived there and I saw just how beautiful it was. Secondly, Some of friends went there and took loads of pictures of the place and things there (I HAVE to go to the Urban Outfitter there!) and thirdly, my boyfriend told me he'd love to move there one day. It  looks amaaaazing, and the shopping i'm guessing would be pretty amazing too.

Thank you for reading guys. I'm sorry btw for the lack of beauty posts at the moment. I'm lacking in ideas of what to do atm and need to wait to get paid so that I can do more reviews :)

Ten Day You Challenge | Day Four

Day Four | Seven Wants

1. To do well at Uni - I've always been alright academic wise, i've never done amazingly like I got 2 A's about 6 or 7 Bs and 2 Cs at GCSE and an A and two Bs at A level, but I want to do really well at Uni. My course is Education studies so it won't lead to one specific job type but if you get a 2:1 (sort of B level) you automatically get an interview for a PGCE which is what I want to do. I therefore really want to do well.

2. I want to finally choose a career path - You probably know very well that I have little to no clue what I want to do when I finish at Uni and so i'd love to get some inspiration from some where or come across a job which I decide I want to go for.

3. Some amazing boots - Boots don't suit me except for really diddy ankle boots. I'd love to find some boots which look amazing!

4. To win the lottery - Lets face it, it's not going to happen... but I still want it to. It would be rather amazing.

5. For my boyfriend to hurry up and come back to little old Worcester - Uni isn't back for a few weeks yet but I want him to come and live back here already. It would be quite fun if his family could just move here because they're lovely and then he'd be here all the timeee. What a cheesy want eh!

6. A new camera - Mine is a little nikon coolpix, which is great and has a rather pretty design...but I want a jazzy one which takes amazing HD pictures and such things.

7. To have a lifetimes supple of Tea - I love tea. A lifetimes supply would be amaaazing!

Thank you all for reading :) Hope you've had/ are having a lovely Thursday.

Lots of love, Lucy xx

10 Day You Challenge | Day two

Day Two- Nine loves

1. My family and friends- I'm sure everyone says this but I really would be lost without my family and friends. Plus they all pretty much merge into one, like my mum is my best friend and my best friends feel like family.

2. Liam my boyfriend- I don't like PDAs but it's truee. He's a bit of a dork just like me and sometimes we do stuff and say if anyone could see us they'd think we were so wierd (we did a 'who can lean the farthest forward without falling over' contest the other day....enough said.)

3. Shopping- I shop way too much but I love the buzz it gives you when you get home and look through the amazing new things you've bought. I sometimes think i'm a bit of a shopaholic but money burns holes in my pockets and any money I get for Birthdays or Christmas never stays in my account long. I love clothes and make up and bags and shoes, which is good when you're writing a make up/fashion/lifestyle blog I suppose.

4. Magazines- I'm a right sucker for magazines and I always have been. I like that you can shop without shopping, if you get what I mean. It gives you ideas of seasonal trends and ideas of things to buy, it's kind of like a blog in paper form. I used to always get Twinkle (anyone remember that?) when I was little, then magazines like Sugar and bliss when I was a bit older and now i'm onto Elle and Vogue and Company and More and and Glamour and Gracia and cosmopolitan and....

5. Skinny Jeans- I do love my skinny jeans. I can remember when I got my first pair when I was like ten from the kids part of New Look because my older brother had some and I always copied him like the little sheep I was. Since then i've never gone back to flares but the ones I get are a little more expensive now.

6. Tea-  I drink tea like there's no tomorrow. I probably drink more tea than anything else and at least one every hour (i'm drinking one as I type this). There's nothing like a hot cup of tea on a winters day, or a glass of iced tea in the summer. Mmmmmm tea!

7. Music- Music has always been a mahoosive part of my life. I love how you can listen to a song and memories come flooding back. Or how it can make you happy or relaxed and how some songs can describe exactly how you feel. I took music for GCSE as well as Performing Arts, so reading music, writing compositions, playing piano and singing was all a bit part of high school for me. I feel lost without my ipod or the radio.

8. Uni- I hated Uni at first, I stayed at home because I can get propper home sick. I almost went to a Uni about an hour away from home, but at the last minute I decided to go to the one in my city. However, I've made some rather good friends including my boyfriend who I met there. I now pretty much live at his house and I wouldn't change a minute of Uni life, I can already tell it's going to be one of the best experiences of my life.

9. Last but certainly not least, blogging- You know those stats like 'You spend 20 years of your life on the toilet' or whatever...mine is more than likely 'you spend 90% of your life thinking about or actually writing on your blog'. I only started doing this at the beginning of July but I love it! I love reading other blogs and also the buzz you get when you look at someone else has subscribed or commented :)

Anyway guys, hope you're all having a fab Monday, only 4 days left till the weekend yay! haha

thanks for reading :)

Lots of love, Lucy xx

Ten Day You Challenge | Day one

Hey guys

So i've seen this floating around in the blogosphere for some time now but i've decided to do it as i'm getting ready to head out of summer and back into Uni :( I'm also out of things to review and talk about for the next week or so, therefore I though't i'd do this as a sort of gap filler. I really enjoy reading other people's so i hope you will enjoy reading mine too :)

Day one- Ten secrets

I find it really hard to think up secrets because I don't have any, as boring as that is haha, so this is more of a things about me not everyone knows...

1. I'm stupidly shy- like it's always been a problem, when I meet new people my heart races and I can barely talk. Untill I get to know them, then they probably wish I would shut up some times. I've always wanted to be less shy, it has gotten better over the years, so hopefully by the time i'm like 130 i'll be completely confident!

2. Leading on from the last - I get on better with guys than girls although i'm a very girly girl, not a tom boy by any means. My very closest friends are girls i've known for years but then my outer circle of friends are mainly guys. I just find there's much less drama with them.

3. I've already got my boyfriends christmas present...two tickets to see Olly Murs because he loves him...but shhhh :P

4. I'm completely hopeless at organising. I buy something or make a 'New Years resolution' to become more organised...and it all starts good, for example i'll start the Uni year with a planner and the thought that i'll knuckle down and do well....then after two weeks I give in and go out every other night. It really isn't good.

5. i'm a complete comitment-phobe. Unless it's things i've done all of my life (going to school/ college/ Uni) or something I completely love and am devoted to...I hate it! Going to work for example...I hated it and it was so strict and time consuming, considering it was only a weekend job on the checkout whilst I was also studying for my A levels. Even if I have to stay later at Uni or whatever...I can't stand it. I think it's the fact I like my own time, doing things I want to, and anything which runs into that is not good! I hate getting myself into situations where it's hard to back out.

6. I cried for pretty much the whole of pre school and my first 3 years at primary school. I really did not like primary school. I was very clingy and hated my mum leaving me there. I also hated noisy places and people who were boisterous, so I much preffered when we were sat working...So very sad...I'm glad that changed quickly. Also this one time in pre-school (remind anyone of "this one time in band camp"? haha) I ran upto the door kicking it and screaming to leave.

7. I'm in my second year at Uni...Yet i still have no clue what i want to do when I leave. since I was about 3 years old, lining my toys up against the fire guard (they burnt...but that's another story) I've wanted to be a teacher. But now i'm actually at the time of deciding I don't really know if I want to any more. Oh dear.

8. I forget people's names so easily. I can remember people's faces but can never remember their names. It gets me into a right pickle sometimes.

9. It was me who wrote on the newly wallpapered wall when I was 4, not my older brother, although he got the blame (Mwahaha). I was a very mischievous child.

10. I don't really know what my style is, although I wish I did. I love fashion and clothes LOTS, but I often buy things I like, not because they're particularly fashionable. sometimes I try my hardest to buy things which are fashionable, but i'm crappy at finding, picking things and putting outfits together.

I hope you like reading these too and find this some what interesting. Link me to your 'ten day you challenge' and I will most certainly read it :)

Lots of love, Lucy xx
