I Love Autumn Tag

Helloooo,

So I've seen quite a few YouTubers doing the 'I <3 Fall Tag' and soooo I have decided to do my own version of it over on my little blog. I'm sure some people are already doing it but I absolutely love Autumn so  whyyy not? :)

1. Favourite Autumn lip product?

Ooooh that's a tricky one, I've been liking quite a few recently including Nivea's Milk and Honey lip balm. I also like my Balmi lip balm but I guess my favourite one at the moment is a Revlon lip butter in Raspberry Pie, which is a lovely berry colour.

2. Favourite Autumn nail polish?
Definitely definitely DEFINITELY Barry M's nail varnish in 'Raspberry'. I've been rambling on about this quite a bit recently but it is soooo lovely. It is exactly the same colour as the lip butter, a sort of deep red, berry colour. It looks just plain red in the picture but honestly it isn't!

3. Favourite Autumn drink?
This was originally fave starbucks Autumn drink but I never go there because Worcester doesn't have one!! Tricky, I can't say I really drink anything different in Autumn except for maybe just hot drinks in general. I love a tea and green tea with lemon or even fruit teas which are really lovely and hot chocolate...mmmm.

4. Favourite Autumn candle?
I feel boring again because, don't get me wrong I love candles, but I can't justify spending like £20 or however much a Yankee candle is, on a candle, also I don't know if it's just me but whenever any candle is burning no matter where it's from or what scent it is, all I can smell is burning candle....? Sooo I guess my favourite candles are just tea lights which you put into a pumpkin :)

5.Favourite Autumn scarf or accessory?
This might have to be a scarf I got from George. It's a mix of red, burgundy and purple so a great colour for Autumn. It's not woolly so it's not super hot but it's still warm enough to keep you snug in the colder days.

6. Haunted House, ghost train or ghost walk?
I've altered this one a bit because I'm not sure if 'hay rides' or 'corn mazes', which were originally in the question, are that common in England compared to ghost trains and ghost walks.
I do not like ghost trains, as a gullible 4 year old I went on the one at Alton Towers thinking it was a train in the shape of a ghost....I cried and i'm sure now being 19 I'd still be terrified. Ghost walks scare me too. My town has one and Worcester is a really old place so there are loads of stories of ghosts and things. It's super scary because they're sightings and things by real people instead of plastic figures and mechanisms. I'd have to go with a haunted house, at least you can run through them and get out asap...In case you hadn't noticed, I'm a wimp :P

7. Favourite Halloween Movie?
I'd have to go with Halloween town which when I was younger always seemed to be on the Disney Channel around Halloween time. It reminds me of dressing up and going to friend's parties.

8.Favourite sweets to eat at Halloween?
Ummmmm, do England do a specific sweet for Halloween? I love alllll sweets so any sweets are great. I do like the little ghost and eyeball chocolates and things :)

9. What are you dressing up as for Halloween?
I do not have a clue! last year we went to our friends uni party and I was a devil. I'd like to do something like a scary doll or something a little more original this year. Any ideas? lol.

10. What's your favourite thing about Autumn?
The colours. I love reds and oranges and goldsssss. I also love Haloween and Bonfire night!!!!!! I also like the fact that it's getting colder outside but it's not sooo cold that you don't want to get out of bed in the morning.

Thanks for reading :) I'd love to read your 'I love Autumn Tag' if you do it or if you've already done it so feel free to link it to me. I tag everrrryone reading this to do the tag :)

Lots of love, Lucy xx

Boots Haul!

Hey guys :)

I love Boots, it is by far my favourite place to shop in the whole world, if I could live there, I would. so anyway I went there to pick up a few things the other day and ended up getting more things than I'd anticipated so I decided to do a little haul :)

I really like the idea of the Boots Botanics range. It is pretty much a range of skin care which uses as many organic ingredients as possible. I picked up their nourishing cleanser as I previously used simple's but fancied something a bit different. It smells of roses and seems to be working pretty well although I've only been using it for the past few days.

I also got a facial oil which is not something I've seen before but reviews for it said it was really good and reading the box also made me want it. It contains 100% organic ingredients and states that it is scientifically proven to lock in moisture for 8 hours. It says it can be used morning and night but so far I've found it's a little too greasy to use in the morning but it a great night time moisturiser.

I will do a full review of these two ones I've had a bit more use out of them so keep your eyes peeled :)

I picked up rather a few nail polishes on the trip. The first is Essie's 'no chips ahead' top coat which claims that it can prolong a manicure for up to ten days. So far it seems to be pretty good, there are a few chips, but not as many as usual. It was quite pricey at £8.99 but I'be been looking for a good top coat for ages.

I also bought three Barry M varnishes. The first (left to right) is a 'web effect' nail varnish which I'm guessing is for Halloween. It is a bright orange colour which is very fitting. I tried it the other day and it never worked, but I was using it on dry nail varnish and apparently the base coat cannot be completely dry so I'll try it again soon. The second along is 'burgundy Croc'. This is exactly the same colour as their 'Raspberry' nail varnish which I love. Third along is 'pink sapphire glitter' which is an amazing pink and rainbow coloured glitter, it is super pretty!

the last nail varnish I got was one from Rimmel and I believe it's one of their newer ones. It's part of their metal rush collection and this one was called 'Purple reign'. It's a lovely deep purple with flecks of silver, blue, gold and pink.

I love St Ives face scrubs and said in my Monthly Favourites that I wanted to pick up their gentle and blemish fighting ones too. I decided instead to just get the gentle one, as I can use this every day, which is something my skin definitely needs. I also got the body scrub which seems very similar to their invigorating face scrub. It smells the same and has a very similar texture. I can't wait to use it and compare it to my usual Soap and Glory body scrub.

Finally I picked up a 'balmi' which I have heard lots about recently. It's a round shaped tub which you unscrew and it then has a ball of lip balm inside which is very handy. I got it in strawberry and it is delicious. I would tell you whether it's amazing at moisturising your lips or not, but I usually end up licking it off pretty quickly so I can't really comment.

Thanks for reading :) Have you used any of these products before?

NOTD | Raspberry

Helloo :)

I found this Barry M nail varnish in Boots about a week ago and fell in love intsantly. This wine colour is one of my favourite for autumn and I've been buying lots of scarves and tops ad things in this colour and now have an amazing nail colour to match. It looks so good I keep wanting to lick it to see if it'll taste like raspberries  although i'm almost certain it won't so i'll give it a miss.

These pictures make it look more red that 'raspberry' but in person the colour is much more a 'purpley-red' nearer to burgundy. I absolutely love this colour for autumn and believe it will transition well into winter and I can imagine having it on at Christmas with a glitter top coat.

Thanks for reading. I'd love to hear what your favourite nail colour is for Autumn.

Lots of love, Lucy xx

My Nail Polish Collection

Hey guys :)

So my nail polish collection is not very extensive as you can see and I am on a mission to get more colours. I thought i'd share it with you anyway...

I own only three Models own varnishes and really want some from their mirrorball collection but they're completely sold out online at the moment. but anyway the ones I have are (from left to right) Golden Peach, Pink fizz and Indian Ocean.

I used to have more 17 nail polishes because they are cheaper and have so many colours, they're also pretty good quality, but more recently i've bee buying more Barry M and Essie polishes. These ones are (from left to right) orange soda, glisten and glitter top coat.

These two from Avon I do like, but their wear is pretty crappy, they usually chip within hours of applying. Also because you're ordering from a catalogue, it's hard to see the exact colours. These are (l-r) Ballerina and vintage boutique.

I have been loving Essie ever since they came out into the Boots in my town. The colours are all amazing although I find they chip easily, which makes me sad, although i'm hoping to invest in a real good top coat. I got most of these bar 2 from fragrancedirect.com where they were £1.99 so I didn't feel haf as bad buying them as I did buying them for £7.99 in Boots. These ones (l-r) are Vanity Fairest, Penny Talk, Muchi Muchi, Mademoiselle, Tour De Finance, Ballet slippers and Chubby Cheeks.

Barry M are like the best nail varnishes (in my opinion) ever! they're a fraction of the price of Essie but they seem to last much longer and are much more chip resistant. The ones I have are (l-r) Flamingo  Peach Melba, Strawberry Ice Cream, Cappuccino and Raspberry.

These are the two 'odd-one-out' varnishes from my collection, they are Natural Collections 'tip whitener' and N.Y.C Starry Silver Glitter.

Thank you for reading :)

Monthly Favourites | August

Hey Guys,

I feel everyone says this but seriously...where did that month go? I feel more like i'm flipping my calender over every fortnight now instead of every month. Never the less, it's time again for monthly favourites
Woop Woop!!...

Aussie Miracle hair insurance - This month i've been loving Aussie's miracle hair insurance leave in conditioner. I've been using this for a few months now but have really started to notice my hair getting tonnes softer these past few weeks. It smells like bubblegum to me (if anyone ever had Spaghett gum...it smells exactly like that). It has Jojoba oil in it which helps to untangle and protect your hair. It isn't a heat defense spray so you still have to use one of those along with it, but this most certainly is a great addition. I have very fine hair and this doesn't leave it greasy or feeling heavy, which is a bonus.

CKIN2U - this scent by Calvin Klein has been my summer smell and I just love it. Boots.com describes the scents as....
"CKIN2U for her is spontaneous and seductive. It opens with a burst of pink grapefruit fizz, tart red currant leaves and zesty sicilian bergamot. The heart produces a surge of mouth watering sugar orchid that mingles with the hypnotic nectar of the white Cactus. The fragrance is lit from within as warm neon Amber floods throughout, while the base notes are flush with the seductive scents of luscious Vanilla soufflé and smoldering red Cedar."
Which puts it pretty well I think. It really is, it's a beautiful scent and I get tonnes of compliments on it, it's also very affordable being £24.56 for 100ml from Boots, check it out HERE.

Barry M Nail Paint in Peach Melba - This colour is gorgeous, I wish i'd have found it sooner as i would probably have worn it all spring and summer. It's a real lovely pastel peach, meaning that it's very wearable but still colourful and pretty. I'm going to wear this in Autumn still...i'll think up some excuse.

Barry M Nail Paint in Strawberry Ice Cream  -  This is a very pale pastel pink. It is again super pretty and the name makes me want to eat it (I won't, don't worry). I love Barry M nail varnishes in general, they are only around £3 but they are very long lasting. I painted my nails with the Peach Melba about 3 days ago (without using a top coat) and there are absolutely no chips so far. Fabulous!

Me Me Me Blush me - I brought this boxed blush as I was longing for the Benefit boxed blush in 'Coralista', and then came across this little beauty for a fraction of the price (£8). I was looking for a good coral blusher anyway and this one ticks all the boxes. It's a gorgeous coral colour which is slightly shimmery. It comes with a flat square brush which is surprisingly soft, there is also a mirror in the lid, something which, I believe, the Benefit blushers do not have.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - I picked this up in Rendezvous a few weeks ago and have fallen in love to be quite honest. It's not the most moisturising of all lip balms but the pigmentation is great and lasts quite some time regarding you don't drink or eat...but even then my lips still have a hint of the colour. And it tastes minty. I've done a full review on this so click HERE if you want to know more.

Revlon Lip Butter - I have like 6 or 7 of the lip butters and I love them...when they were on offer I picked one up every time I was in town. My favourites so far are Sweet Tart which is a bright pink, Tutti Frutti an orangey coral (the same as Rendezvous above) and peach parfait (the one in the picture) which I have been reaching for most this month, this is a darker, pinky almost red peach which gold shimmer.

MUA lipstick - I am a massive fan on MUA, especially their lipsicks, they're more like lip butters than lipsticks. They are super moisturising and some are quite sheer although others such as the red and a light coral are opaque. The biggest selling point is that they are only £1!!!! I can literally not say one bad thing about these lipsticks. The one i've been loving in August is shade 11. It's pretty similar to the Revlon Peach Parfait lip butter, but it has no shimmer. It is pretty much my lip colour, but better. My face doesn't seem to suit bright reds and pinks but this colour along with coral and peach ones look great. I thoroughly recommend these!

This picture will not rotate no matter how much I try and what I do, so apologies for that.

Benefit BADgal lash - I have been loving this mascara in August. the brush is super big meaning it created a lot of volume, something my lashes need because they're blonde. I got it in a travel size which has been very handy travelling around this summer. The mascara is very long wearing and just generally amazing. I'll have to see if I love Benefit's 'They're Real' as much as I love this one.

MUA Eyeshadow Pallet in 'Undressed' - Undressed is one of MUA's latest eyeshadow pallets. MUA eyeshadows are pretty well known now as being amazingly pigmented and great value for money. I went onto the website purposely to buy this and found that it had a pound knocked off so it was just £3. This pallet is supposedly a dupe for Urban Decay's Naked2 pallet. It contains a mixture of matte, pearly and shimmery eyeshadows and they're all pretty nude colours although there are two sort of grey/blue colours. You can make a number of different looks from this pallet from just simple nude shimmery eyes to full on smokey eyes. LOVE IT!

MUA eyeliner pencil in 'Rich Brown' - I hadn't given these much of a try before but I had a brown eyeliner from Collection 2000 which wasn't very soft and tugged at my eyes so I got this thinking "well it's only a pound i'll give it a try". I really love this eyeliner. It glides on very well without tugging at my eyes, the pigmentation is also amazing compared to my ones from brands such as Rimmel and Maybelline. It contains cocoa butter and bees wax and the lid is a sharpner which is very handy. The only downfall of this eyeliner is that it's staying power isn't very great especially on the waterline, for £1 though it's worth it.

MUA professional eye primer - I didn't have very high expectations of this considering it's only £4 but i was very pleasantly surprised. I did some swatches of eyeshadows on my arm over the primer and then some without to see how well it actually did. you can see the results below. On the top line I used no primer and used primer on the bottom. The second picture doesn't do it justice but the other lighter colours were also visible, but you can see even from the blue how drastic the difference is.

It obviously isn't as good as  high end primers, but if you're on a budget then I really do recommend this.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR -  I got this in 'on and on bronze' because i'm loving bronze eye shadows atm and wanted a cream shadow. I'd heard good things about this so gave it a try and I love it. The colour is lovely and it stays on my eyelids for quite some time. If I put a swatch onto my hand and rub at it, it fades but doesn't come off completely. I can see this lasting me quite some time and it was only £4.99 so i've been using it a lot this month :)

That is it :) Thank you sooo much for reading and let me know if you've been loving any of the things i've talked about :)

Lots of Love, Lucy xx
